No sé. No hice el mundo.

In English: “I don’t know. I didn’t make the world.” This is from a children’s story that I read in a high school Spanish class (Spanish 7/8, Berkeley High—yea yea). I do not remember anything else of the story, and did not make note of its title or author, but I think these lines were spoken by some uppity little lizard or something. If anyone knows the story, let me know.

It’s a nice sentiment and something that comes across much more succinctly and appropriately in the original language. Hey, he’s got a point. I didn’t make it and neither did you.
